Sweet November-December 2012

Why "sweet"?
Because I have so many sweet memories to what happened in that period.....
First.... My sister visited me at MANGUNI,,,,, and my nephew Hannie Waworoentoe (Professor) also passed by with his wife Agnes

A few days later we flew to Jakarta and were welcomed by Ewaldo and his Dad informing us about the latest family happenings. Among these were the fact  that Ezra's group "HIVI" has many performances in Jakarta later also in Bandung and also in Yogya  and Surabaya.

I attended some performances of my grandson's HIVI jazz group: in Depok as well as in Jakarta (at "Gancy's"). About the Depok pictures and video I have found the pictures....

Shoppers at the mall....all young people

Remember that Depok is a university town, Universitas Indonesia and an important IT Academy (I forgot the name) as well as other higher education establishments are located there. The performance of HIVI was held at one of the many big malls along the main road of Depok.

I assume that you get a feeling of what's going on down there on the pictures ...... When I should have been that age I'm sure I would be sitting and later standing, clasping, waving and jumping along with them,when the HIVIs started their show.

Manado VACATION and STORM

January 1st we took a LIONAIR flight from Jkt to Manado We: Ake, Omi, Ezra, Febby, Ewaldo and Elyshia

Note: Ewaldo came with the last flight......

On the 2nd of January we chertered a mokrolet.....

LOSS of OUR JETTY, OUR PRIDE and ENJOYMENT

About 2 years ago, don't worry- be happy.....

After the storm on the 9th January evening whilst in the morning Ewaldo returned to Jakarta I found out that the most northern part of the jetty had stranded on the shore below of our kitchen window.... man-man-man that sure was a powerful wave to make that destruction......

Many more waves came also other strong waves that moved the "KONTIKI" to another place on the shore still

next morning the KONTIKI had moved to this location

from its old location the day before.....

other remnants of the broken jetty.....

We discussed and our staff had a KERJA BAKTI session and obtained some bonus to dismantle the ex-jetty (because it was good, strong wood) and carry the wood uphill right below my laundry section.
